Angers (January): Angers Premiers Plans Film Festival

Requirements: 16mm, 35mm, sepmag not accepted. Films in foreign languages will be subtitled at the expense of the festival without damage to the print. Films must have been produced during the two years before festival. Features section open to the second film of European directors, as long as the first film is unreleased in France at the time of the festival
Awards: Prizes ranging from €1,000 to €20,000 for best first feature film, best screenplay, best short film, best student film. Other discretionary and cash awards, plus cash prizes for audience favourites in the different categories

Paris (April): The European Independent Film Festival

Deadline: Deadline for submissions is 21 November 2010 and the late deadline is 9 January 2011

Requirements: . The following screening formats are acceptable for projection at the festival: 35mm, Beta SP (PAL only), Digibeta (PAL) DVD. Films must have been completed since April 1st 2009. To be eligible for the short film competitions films must be 30 minutes or less.
Awards: Title of ‘Europeâ™s Best Independent Film” award. The Film of the Festival will win a cash prize. Other prizes include hard drives from G-Technology by Hitachi
